I was initially concerned about Anthony and Manny having the same general colour palette but sticking to the mouldy tangerine peel vibe I've managed to capture Sherman quite well lol, I don't know what he's eating but I feel like he needs to be reprimanded with a water spray bottle

That aside Sherman is larger, shaggier and just plain rough after a good 20yrs of lycanthopy compared to the recently turned comparatively sleek bus driver werewolf(not that they'll be interacting being that they're in different parts of the au)

Small(?) update on the Du'met!Erin au.

ok, so it's been what? a month since TDiM community chose the Du'met and Erin role/character swap AU and the bad news is: No, I haven't started writing it yet(disappointing I know and I am so sorry I have never written anything before so I will be slow with it :') BUUUT I do have some information about it! the brain has been storming the past month!

Ok, so first of all I would like to clear up some things before people start to question it.

1(and probably the most important at least imo): With Erin and Hector being swapped I would like to clear up that Jamie and Hector are NOT LOVE INTERESTS!!!! They are BFFs instead and Jamie's room scene will be slightly different and not at all romantic(at least between Jamie and Hector). And now that I'm writing that I feel like that was probably obvious since I did put it in a JERIN fic poll but JUST IN CASE.

2: The whole Manny Sherman and Hector being in the FBI thing will be sliiiightly different. Without giving too much away, Hector was still in the FBI and worked on the Sherman case but was able to catch himself before Sherman brainwashed him basically and resigned shortly after. However~ This time he had a partner investigating the Sherman case with him and let's just say maybe taking the tapes home with you (illegally btw) and stuffing them in your attic for someone to possibly find later on wasn't a good idea...

3: Erin still has asthma. That doesn't change and it actually has plot relevance.

So yeah! that's the "clear ups" if you can call them that?

now, time for plot stuff

ok so basically, for plot reasons I am swapping Charlie and Jamie's placements in the story, and by that I mean, Jamie falls down the trap door instead of Charlie in the freezer and she goes through most of the stuff he goes through in the actual game and vice versa with Charlie and what Jamie goes through, and I am debating if I should do the same with Mark and Kate. There's no reason to do that really, but I think it would be fun!

I am also now realizing(not really now I have thought about it for like 2 weeks) that with position swaps also means death swaps👀👀👀👀

Also side note: I have been debating if I should do little one-shots for all of my Jerin AUs to give people a basic kind of plot or story for all of them. Obviously, I'm going to make and finish the Du'met!Erin au first before going into any of my other AUs for them. Some of them (HoA AU and Ultimatum) won't be getting one-shots since they are one-shots in and of themselves, but my other AUs(Like the 1980s murder wives, Deadpool x Spiderman, and my many(by many I mean 4 XD) werewolf AUs. Oh! And by the way, I forgot to mention that the Vampire x Werewolf AU is also an 1800s AU I know I should have included that in the poll but I completely forgot :')) That have actual storylines and plots to them that would be more than a simple one-shot. Like for the murder wives, I have an idea for a one-shot that is kind of like a prequel to the actual fic.

Please let me know if you'd like for me to make little one-shots for them first! Also sorry if this is a hard read grammar is not a very good skill of mine and I'm from the South so my English is kind of broken to begin with XD

School!au, heclie. part 2/?

One day Charlie pisses off Manny, and he waits for him after school and beats him up. Lonnit had gone through a similar experience in his previous high school... for some reason he was always seen as a nice punching bag. He sits on the curb, beaten and sad, his bike lying next to him, and he doesn't want to go home because his mom will get upset again. Hector watches him from the sidelines for a while, silent, and then, cursing his curiosity (and his crush, but he hasn't realized it's a crush yet; it's just that when Charlie walked into class, all so light and warm, in those silly glasses and a tie, his heart skipped a beat or two, and he somehow felt an urgent need to drink some water), he heads straight for him.

Hector helps him up and listens to him, walking with him all the way home, and this is... strange, of course. He's never done anything like this before. Anyway, yes, this is his first love, and he's confused. Charles looks grateful and smiles.

Because of him, Hector is late after school and comes home later than he should, for which he gets punished. But he doesn't worry about it; he's sure that even if he had come on time, his mother would still have found something to punish him for.

He and Charles begin to communicate little by little. Hector listens to everything Charlie tells him. He's always quiet, but he shows his interest in other ways: for example, defending him from Sherman, or taking him to some of his favorite places. At the same time, he can't help but notice that Charles communicates not only with him, but also with Mark, and it... oh, it makes him feel terrible, though he can't understand why.

He must have been acting too obviously tense during their walk after school that day (Lucinda is at work, he can take his time getting home), and Charles asks him what happened, expectantly getting no answer. Lonnit sighs. "Hector, really, what's wrong? Don't be silent, I beg you, say something," he says, trying to look Munday in the eye. The brunet stubbornly averts his gaze, his lips tense.

Charles still manages to stand up so that Hector looks at him, and Lonnit smiles softly, looking at him with a puppy dog look. Munday sighs. "Why were you talking with Mark?" the question sounds a little harsh and rude.

Charlie blinks in surprise. "Because he's my friend," he shrugs. "And you're my friend, too," he adds, smiling.

Hector is not satisfied with being a friend "too". He wants to be the only person Charles needs. But he doesn't say that, of course. He remains silent and smiles nervously.

He continues to occasionally watch from the sidelines how Charles interacts with others, with Mark. And he notices to himself that he is most disgusted when Charles is touched. When Mark hugs him, pats him on the shoulder, rubs his hair. It all makes Hector just clench his fists and turn away proudly with his lips pressed together. And in the evening, it makes him imagine how he could have touched Charles, too. But he wasn't used to this appearance of feeling, so he couldn't found bravery... he wanted to hint, somehow, so that Charlie would do it himself...

One day they were sitting together in a secluded place near the school - one of the ones that Munday had shown Charles - and Lonnit was saying something about his day, and suddenly he mentioned that Mark had taken his picture. To Hector's confused look, Charlie explained that Nestor was learning how to take portraits, and Kate and Jamie were busy and couldn't help him, so he agreed to lend a hand.

It was as if Hector had an itch under his skin. He wanted to ask if Mark had touched his face, but he knew how stupid and inappropriate that would sound, so he just kept quiet.

After a while, Lucinda snapped at him and slightly exceeded the usual level of violence that Hector had managed to adjust to, and so the next day the guy just looks and feels like a nightmare. His shoulder blades ache, his head hurts, and his arms are pierced with pain from any fleeting rubbing against the fabric of his shirt.

"Hector, are you okay?" asked Charles at one point when they were already sitting in their place after school. "You look just... especially pale? Maybe I should walk you home?"

"No!" says Hector somewhat sharply and a little more emotionally than he would have want.

Charlie looks at him anxiously, and then suddenly reaches out and gently touches his shoulder. "Hector, I... heard some rumors about your mother," Lonnit timidly begins. Munday's defenses kick in and he pulls away sharply, wrinkling his nose at the mention of Lucinda. Charlie looks at him sadly. "Look... I get that you don't want to talk about it, that you don't want to feel vulnerable and all that, but Hector... I'm your close friend, aren't I? You can trust me," he says, looking up at him with honest, puppy-dog eyes.

Hector presses his lips together, feeling utterly powerless in front of that stare. He looks away somewhat bashfully. "I don't like to talk," he says, and he hears Charles sigh sadly. Munday thinks for a few moments, and then suddenly lifts his shirt somewhat twitchily, showing silently the marks on his back. He holds the fabric for a couple of moments while Charlie silently examines his bruises, and then puts his hand down, letting the fabric cover everything up again.

"Oh, Hector... that's terrible, did you... did you go to the nurse? Look, I can get some ointment for the bruises tomorrow, that should help, though in general I'd rather you go to the police with it, but I'm already guessing you won't, so... yes, the ointment," he says anxiously quickly.

"Hug me," the words suddenly come from Hector's lips, quite spontaneously, out of place. He doesn't immediately realize what he's just said.

Charles doesn't seem to realize what he has just heard either, but after a few seconds he readily stands up and approaches him, first gently touching his shoulder to make him turn around and then enclosing him in a warm, gently hug.

Hector feels odd and a little embarrassed. At first he just keeps standing there, somewhat awkwardly, not hugging his friend back, but then Charlie suddenly touches his arm and guides it a little higher, clearly hinting. Munday hesitantly places his palms on his back, and Charles exhales with a smile, relaxing a little, and begins stroking Hector's back. "You'll be fine, Hector," he says, resting his head on his shoulder.

Munday is suddenly struck by a completely irrational fear, and he abruptly squeezes Charles's body in his arms, pulling him closer, and he groans a little surprised.

"Whoa, whoa, okay, boy, it's okay, but you're about to strangle me... we should cuddle more often, right?" utters Lonnit with a smile, but Hector keeps squeezing him like if Charles pulls away, he'll die. In the end, Lonnit just resigns himself, letting him do it.

He just hopes that Hector will feel better. And it works.

AU where charlie is actually also evil and works alongside with du'met. or where their roles are switched. charlie is the serial killer and du'met films true crime documentary.

I actually really like this idea! I can imagine a whole story for this already actually. Granthem would go by his real name here though considering he isn't a secretive murderer.

I image Hector being a true crime expert who is starting work for Lonnit Entertainment. He is a well known expert when it comes to criminal history and is recently hired in an attempt to salvage the show "Architects of Murder." He is a quiet man who is trying to let go of his traumatic past while still using his criminology skills to make ends meet. Hector is knowledgeable in criminology and research due to previously being an FBI agent. He resigned due to traumatic experiences with a certain murderer he caught and moved on to becoming a criminology researcher. Hector found himself being interviewed for his involvement in the Manny Sherman case in several documentaries and due to it found himself getting more and more opportunities in true crime media.

Very recently, Hector was invited to work with Lonnit Entertainment, a small film company. He was hired to offer the group insight into H.H Holmes, the highlight of their current episode. He began working with Charlie Lonnit and his small crew for a while before Charlie supposedly found an amazing opportunity for their show. An invitation from a man named Granthem Du'Met to a private recreation of the H.H Holmes murder castle. Hector was incredibly skeptical at first, something about this sudden invitation just felt too perfect for the shows status. Charlie urged them and made them take their weekends to head to the castle despite Hector's warnings however.

The crew arrives at the island, Charlie seemed to know how exactly to enter despite Granthem Du'Met's absence. Hector felt that everything was wrong with this place, even if there were genuine artifacts from H.H Holmes. It was until dinner time did the group meet up at the dining room to see that Charlie Lonnit was missing. A doll was in his place, it told the group of five that Granthem Du'Met never existed. Charlie Lonnit had planned all of this from the start, and now that they were trapped in the castle he'd kill them off one by one while recording everything. Their murders would be turned into the greatest film Charlie Lonnit had ever made...

But that's just what I imagine with this idea. I can't believe I wrote an entire summary to this maybe I will actually write this one thank you so much for the idea haha I somehow got myself into writing so much for this response I didn't mean to :o

I saw this incorrect quote recently and I knew what I had to do, so bringing Sherman Du'met into the evil little family or more so bringing pyromegan/burnt doll into the two Du'mets thing has Sherman trying to survive Hector's inability to say no to his sister(also not Hector not warning Manny and deciding to let them sort it out themselves)

Anyway, the alias for murder castle Megan is Margaret Du'met, I don't think she'd actually stab him because she's more of a "let the fire decide" type and would there for be more likely to attempt to burn him(should I draw either of those? 😂) Sherman in fire like "good for her"

This is set a good decade before Sherman's arrest (bunch of progress and stuff undercut)

Manny would 100% bully children and Megan would 100% 'calmly' show him the error of his ways

I've had this idea in mind for a while but was indecisive on the details, but basically mid 70s teen Sherman is about to "fuck around and find out", messing with Hector and his art projects is a dangerous idea on Megan's watch 😈

I figured it'd be nice to spice up Sherman's look with some stripes since the other two have a lot more going on design wise

randomly thought about how if there was a fallout au for tdim, you could keep Sherman in there as a living character at any point, straight up he could just be a ghoul or a regular human. Like go off, irradiate him, embrace his inner mouldiness

Beastly Delinquent

I didn't expect to be out here as #1 Manny Sherman enjoyer but here we are and yes the cute little puppy grew to be quite the hunting dog, here he is, 16 years old and solidly on his way hunting a different type of prey... Did I mention that I've been fleshing out his backstory? Starting with broader family history up until his first murder(which I wrote a fic about, here)

I neither want there to be one singular smoking gun on why he ended up a killer and nor a sob story that results in him killing about it. When I do finish putting it all together I aim for an emotionally neutral telling where you also understand the through line(There is one moment when his trajectory can go a different way for au reasons but even that didn't "Make him a murderer")

I think it's a little lost in the details but he's having a smoke at that age already and him and good boy Goose have been hunting, rabbits and the like... For now

The Beast of Little Hope

Set in 1992 the clarke family is a pack of werewolves, over a decade prior a teen Hector Clarke was bitten by the Beast of Arkansas and while the family worked to keep him inline they all fell under the curse over the years except Megan who has made it her duty to protect her family. Hector doesn't speak much since the death of their father Clarence one full moon.

The question of who is responsible is unanswered and intentionally kept secret by Megan to prevent the fallout within the family, Hector blames himself regardless and feels a lot of guilt surrounding his family's curse and exactly how he can end it and so he stays close to his sister who has really done the work to become somewhat of a monster hunter although due to the nature of things most of her methods were focused a around non lethal approach and you best believe she's decked out in silver.

After a horrific accident and a lead on the Beast who started this whole thing the family splits as does the au

The first part is Hector and Megan's trip to Arkansas to track down Sherman. It's at this point that I'll clarify that I'm going for a contextual control method of lycanthopy were there's enough room for feral wolf stuff in the backstory but in general Hector can use his abilities to assist as much as possible on their road trip. Megan is determined to break this curse no matter what it takes…

Mean while the family remaining family consisting of James, Anne, Dennis, Tanya, Vince and Anthony travel to Alberta Canada to live in isolation until the curse is broken. They set up on mount Blackwood(the Washingtons and their lodge aren't there yet) and make the old hotel their home, their current condition makes them more equipment to handle this survivalist tale but they are not alone on the mountain…(there is of course a certain man with a flame thrower for one)

For further information Ages in 1992: James 64 Anne 63 Tanya 43 (Vince is similarly aged) Dennis 41 Anthony 39 Manny 36 Megan/Jack32 Hector 27

There are other elements at play that I'm holding off on telling for now but expect to hear and see more once I got these werewolf designs figured out 😉

Also the title is both a play on the beast of Arkansas and to be read as "the beast" as one might reference a type of thing like "the wolf" when talking about all wolves as a species and "of little hope" as "with little hope" positive or not it means refer to the situation of all the characters(especially when they're very much away from little hope)

I honestly thought this would take more words but I'll certainly have more to say when I can articulate it right
